Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is seeking Durham Region resident volunteers to serve as members of the Energy-From-Waste – Waste Management Advisory Committee (EFW-WMAC).

Why: This is a volunteer position that provides advice to the Works Committee on issues such as waste diversion, waste management, environmental performance and monitoring of the Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC), an energy-from-waste facility.

Note: Volunteers must live in the Region of Durham. Clarington residents must submit their application through the Municipality of Clarington. Interested Clarington residents can learn more and apply by visiting ClaringtonVolunteers.ca.

Interested Durham Region residents must provide a detailed resumé with a cover letter outlining their interest and qualifications. Any knowledge you have of various waste management practices, the Environmental Assessment process and Durham’s EFW facility should be included in the submission. Previous participation or experience with other committees/working groups will be considered an asset.
