Whitby, Ont. – As part of the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) approved Abatement Plan and the Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA), the Regional Municipalities of Durham and York, have received the Source Test results for the Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC). Whitby, Ont. – Clarington Fire Officials were called to respond to a fire in the pit of the Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC) today. Additional waste deliveries have been cancelled at this time.

Whitby, Ont. – On Friday, June 24, Durham Region Waste Management staff were updated by the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) regarding their review of the technical report that outlines the status of the Abatement Plan phase one activities.

Whitby, Ont. – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to advise residents that boiler #1 at the Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC) remains off-line in response to the May stack test failure. The DYEC continues to operate with boiler #2.
